Terms of use

What AutoHub is

AutoHub is an online marketplace where private sellers and professional dealers publish used-car listings and buyers contact them. AutoHub is not a party to the sale: the contract is concluded directly between the buyer and the seller.

Your account

You must be at least 18 and give accurate information. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secret and for everything done with your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it. Whoever opens a dealer account declares that they are the legal representative of the company or authorised by it; a false declaration leads to the account being closed.

Publishing a listing

You may only sell a vehicle you own or are authorised to sell. The listing must describe the vehicle honestly (mileage, history, defects) and show real photos of it. Listings are reviewed before and after publication; we may refuse, suspend or remove a listing, or close an account, that breaks these rules or the law.

Buying

Check the vehicle, its mileage history, registration and conformity documents before paying. AutoHub does not inspect vehicles and does not guarantee the information published by sellers. Price ratings and estimates are indicative.

Paid services

Promotions and dealer subscriptions are paid services. Their price and duration are shown before payment, which is handled by our payment provider [Stripe]. As a consumer, you may lose your right of withdrawal once a promotion has started at your request.

Prohibited behaviour

Fake or misleading listings, fraud attempts, spam, collecting other users' data, and any use that disrupts the service are forbidden and may be reported to the authorities. You can block a user at any time, so that they can no longer contact you and you no longer see their listings, and report abusive users or content with the Report button: we review every report.

Liability

We do our best to keep AutoHub available and secure, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. AutoHub is not liable for transactions between users, except in case of our own fault. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer.

Changes and applicable law

We may update these terms; we'll tell you of important changes before they apply. These terms are governed by Belgian law. In case of dispute, write to us first; the courts of [Brussels] have jurisdiction, subject to the mandatory rules protecting consumers.

Privacy policy

Data controller

[Company name], [address], is responsible for the processing of your personal data on AutoHub. Contact for privacy questions: privacy@autohub.be [to be confirmed].

What we collect

Account data (name, email, mobile number if you add it, password in encrypted form), listings and their photos, messages exchanged through AutoHub, payments for paid services (handled by our payment provider, we don't store card numbers), and technical data (device, app version, logs) needed to run and secure the service.

Why we use it

To provide the service you ask for (contract), to prevent fraud and keep the platform safe (legitimate interest), to meet our legal obligations (accounting, requests from authorities), and, only with your consent, to send you marketing messages.

Who receives it

Other users see what you choose to publish. We use service providers for hosting, email, text messages, payments and translation of listings. They process data only on our instructions. When data leaves the European Economic Area, it is protected by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Among them:

  • Twilio sends the verification codes by text message to your mobile number.
  • Resend delivers our emails (account confirmation, password reset, notifications).
  • Stripe handles the payments made on the website (dealer plans, promotions); we don't store card numbers.
  • Stadia Maps displays the maps; it receives the technical data of each map request (IP address, area shown).
  • DeepL automatically translates the text of listings into French, Dutch and English.
  • Backblaze stores the photos of listings on its servers in the United States.

Protection against bots (Cloudflare Turnstile)

AutoHub uses Cloudflare Turnstile to protect sign-up, text-message code requests and the switch to a professional account against bots. Cloudflare processes technical data (IP address, browser and device signals) only for that check, as our processor, without advertising cookies.

Audience measurement (Umami)

To understand how AutoHub is used and improve it, we measure its audience on the website and in the apps with Umami, an open-source tool that we host ourselves on our own server in the European Union (Hetzner). No third party receives this data. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the service.

  • No cookies, nothing stored on your device, and no tracking across other websites or apps.
  • Your IP address is not stored: when a visit arrives, it is only used to estimate an approximate location (country, region, city) and to group the pages of the same visit.
  • We only look at aggregated statistics (pages viewed, searches, contacts, listings published), never at an individual's profile. No name, email address, phone number or message is ever sent.
  • If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, nothing is measured.

How long we keep it

As long as your account is open, then [up to 3 years] for evidence purposes, except accounting data, which we keep for 7 years as required by law. Removed listings are deleted after [12 months]. When you open a dealer account, we keep the date and IP address of your representative declaration as proof for as long as the account exists. When you delete your account, the reviews you wrote stay on the sellers' profiles without your name.

Verification of professional sellers

A dealer can ask for the "Verified pro" badge. Purpose: check that the person managing the account represents the company. Legal basis: your consent, given when you send the request. What we collect: an official company registry extract, an identity document of a director or manager (you may hide your national register number and your photo) and, if needed, a mandate signed by a director. Who sees it: AutoHub administrators only; the files are encrypted and never shared with third parties. Retention: the documents are deleted as soon as the request is decided (accepted or rejected), and at the latest 30 days after it was sent; we only keep the decision, its date and the types of documents sent. Your rights: you can withdraw your consent at any time by cancelling the request in your company settings, which deletes the documents immediately.

Your rights

You can access, correct, delete or download your data, object to its use or withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (www.dataprotectionauthority.be). You can also delete your account yourself at any time in the app settings.

Cookies and device storage

What we store on your device

Only what AutoHub needs to work: your sign-in session, your language and appearance choices, and the favourites you save before signing in. These are strictly necessary and don't require consent.

Measurement and advertising

We don't use advertising cookies. Our audience measurement (Umami, see the privacy policy) uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device. If we ever add optional tools that do, we'll ask for your consent first and you'll be able to change your choice at any time.

Managing storage

You can delete this data from your browser settings or by signing out. Some features, such as staying signed in, won't work without it.
